MSO does not just offer upgrades to existing or new-build McLaren cars. It also produces its own ultra-exclusive models. MSO Limited is the part of the organisation responsible for the design, engineering and production of small series special editions. These combine some of the more popular MSO styling and performance upgrades with bespoke enhancements tailored to the individual car. Every McLaren is created special, but MSO Limited models will always be among the most exclusive.
McLaren 650S Can-Am (2016)
The latest Super Series model from MSO Limited has been created to honour McLaren’s five back-to-back drivers’ titles in the Canadian-American Challenge Cup from 1967 to 1971. Specially commissioned by MSO and limited to just 50 examples worldwide, the 650S Can-Am features unique carbon fibre bodywork –including its bonnet and retractable hardtop roof – Can-Am-inspired forged alloy wheels, a bespoke polished stainless steel exhaust, and Papaya Spark, Mars Red and Onyx Black exterior colour schemes. Recalling the legendary McLaren race cars of five decades ago, the 650S Can-Am is a fitting tribute to McLaren’s dominance of the fearsome Can-Am championship.
McLaren 650S Le Mans (2015)
Built to celebrate the 20th anniversary of McLaren’s win at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 650S Le Mans pays tribute to the McLaren F1 GTR. A comprehensive design was created in consultation with Peter Stevens, the man who designed the McLaren F1 alongside Gordon Murray, and like its famous race-winning predecessor, the 650S Le Mans has a ‘snorkel’ air intake and is finished in the same Sarthe Grey shade of paint. It also has unique lightweight wheels inspired by the motorsport-specification rims of the original race car. Just 50 of these special Super Series models were produced.
McLaren MSO 650S (2014)
Based on the MSO 650S Coupe Concept, the MSO 650S is a limited edition restricted to just 50 cars, with a myriad of styling and performance upgrades. Carbon fibre detailing includes extended MSO door ‘blades’ to enhance airflow and a more aggressive rear diffuser. It wears 10-spoke ultra-lightweight alloy wheels held in place with titanium wheel bolts, while the cabin receives extensive carbon fibre detailing. Just 50 coupes and roadsters will be produced, with each MSO 650S delivered with a sketch from McLaren Design Director Frank Stephenson.
McLaren 50 12C and 12C Spider (2013)
The McLaren 50 12C and 12C Spider were built to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2013, with 50 examples of each body style produced. The special edition featured a new part-carbon front bumper that boosted downforce, carbon ceramic brakes and lightweight wheels finished in satin black. The cabin was upholstered in full leather and carried a special anniversary plate to celebrate the anniversary. Each car was delivered with a black and silver car cover, a unique key and a specially commissioned print signed by Frank Stephenson.
